Venezuelan Cacao in the 18th Century

11/29/07 10:25
history Venezuelan Cacao in the 18th Century
When I first came upon this website, I thought that it's another recipe book giving out its version of the Food for the Gods. Well I haven't eaten that yet--I might've but just didn't know it--but I know that it uses a lot of chocolate.

Venezuela, as we all know, is a majorproducer of cacao beans, which are used to make chocolate. They were particularly famous for producing it during the 1700s. How much was its impact? Read this dissertation from the University of Connecticut to find out.
